1. About this notice
This page is the consolidated legal notice for curavitacares.com, operated by Cura Vita Cares PLLC ("Cura," "we," "us"). Our engineering partner on the EDEN platform is RoxyKovu LLC; both entities are organized in North Carolina.
We wrote this in plain language because that is what readers actually use. Each section addresses a single topic. Headings are stable URLs so we can link directly to any section if you ask us about it.
Not legal advice. This page describes our practices in good faith. It does not constitute legal advice and is not a substitute for consulting an attorney. Statements about U.S. Government works, trademark use, and fair use describe the basis on which we rely; they do not waive any right or remedy of any mark or rights holder.
2. Privacy policy
This section explains what we collect, why, where it goes, and how long we keep it. It applies to curavitacares.com only. The EDEN product itself runs under separate Business Associate Agreements and privacy controls with each customer practice.
2.1 Personal information we collect
- From the contact form: the name, email address, practice or organization, and message body you choose to send us. Submitting the form is optional and entirely your decision.
- From your browser, automatically: limited request data needed to deliver the page (IP address, user-agent string, requested URL, referrer, timestamps). This data sits in standard server logs at our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services. We do not combine it with personal identifiers and we do not use it for marketing.
- From third-party services we use: none. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, social embeds, or session-replay tools on this site.
2.2 What we do with it
- Reply to your inquiry. The form submission is delivered to an AWS Lambda function we operate, then routed to Catherine and/or Aaron at Cura Vita Cares.
- Operate and secure the site. Server logs help us detect abuse, debug errors, and demonstrate that the site is functioning.
- Comply with law. We will produce records if compelled by a valid legal process and will tell you about the demand if we are legally permitted to.
We do not sell, rent, or share your contact-form data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
2.3 Where the data lives
Contact submissions and server logs are stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States. We do not transfer this data outside the U.S. Our cloud provider operates under industry-standard certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and we follow the security guidance for that environment.
2.4 How long we keep it
- Contact submissions: retained for up to 24 months after the conversation closes, then deleted, unless we are required to keep them longer for legal or recordkeeping reasons.
- Server access logs: retained for up to 90 days, then rotated out automatically.
2.5 Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete what we hold (subject to legal-retention exceptions);
- receive a copy of your contact-form submissions in a portable format;
- opt out of any future processing.
Send the request through Contact with the phrase "privacy request" so it routes correctly. We aim to respond within 30 days. We will verify your identity before producing records by replying to the email address you originally used.
2.6 Children
This site is intended for healthcare and business audiences. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
2.7 Security
All traffic to and from this site is served over HTTPS using a certificate issued by Amazon. We do not store passwords or payment data on this site. Despite reasonable safeguards, no transmission over the internet is perfectly secure; you submit information at your own risk.
3. Cookies and tracking
We do not set tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies on this site. We do not embed third-party trackers (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel, etc.). We do not use session replay tools (FullStory, Hotjar, etc.).
A small number of browser-managed storage entries may be present for purely functional reasons (for example, to remember that you dismissed a banner during a session). These never leave your browser.
Because no tracking is in place, this site does not display a cookie consent banner. If we add analytics or tracking in the future, we will update this section, announce the change, and request explicit consent where required by law.
4. Terms of use
By accessing curavitacares.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
4.1 Permitted use
You may read the site, link to its public URLs, and submit the contact form for legitimate inquiries. You may not scrape, mirror, frame, reverse-engineer, or otherwise systematically extract content except as expressly allowed by these terms.
4.2 Intellectual property
All content on this site, except material we explicitly attribute to a third party, is owned by Cura Vita Cares PLLC or its engineering partner RoxyKovu LLC. "Cura," "Cura Vita Cares," and "EDEN" are claimed trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing on this site grants you a license to those marks. See sections 8 through 11 for the full attribution inventory.
4.3 No warranty
This site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Statements about EDEN and other products describe our current plans and may change.
4.4 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cura Vita Cares PLLC and RoxyKovu LLC, and their officers, employees, and partners, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising from your use of this site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
4.5 Third-party links
Links from this site to outside sites (for example, the EDEN product page on www.roxykovu.com, or the Open Font License at openfontlicense.org) are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site.
4.6 Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of this site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
4.7 Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
4.8 Changes
We may revise these terms by updating this page; the new terms apply from the effective date shown at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
5. Healthcare disclaimer
Cura Vita Cares PLLC is a healthcare-technology company. Its principal owner, Catherine Brahe, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and active-duty Navy Lieutenant Commander. The website curavitacares.com is a corporate marketing site only; it is not a clinical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Do not send protected health information (PHI) through this site. The contact form is not a HIPAA-compliant channel. Do not submit your medical history, symptoms, medications, or any information identifying a specific patient. If you need clinical care, contact your own licensed provider; if you have an emergency, call 911.
The EDEN platform itself, operated under separate Business Associate Agreements with each customer practice, is the HIPAA-covered service. Nothing on this marketing site is intended to create, and does not create, a provider-patient relationship between you and Dr. Brahe, Cura Vita Cares PLLC, or RoxyKovu LLC.
Statements on this site about clinical workflows, billing, dermatology, and operational outcomes are general descriptions for software-evaluation purposes. They are not benchmarks, guarantees, or medical recommendations.
6. Forward-looking statements
This site uses words like "in production," "coming soon," "billed as you adopt," "modular," and "roadmap" to describe EDEN's current state and direction. These are forward-looking statements about a product still in active development. Actual functionality, timelines, pricing, and availability may differ from what is described here.
We make no commitment to release any specific feature on any specific schedule, and we may add, remove, or change features at our discretion. Statements on this site are not contractual offers.
7. Accessibility
We design this site against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard for color contrast, keyboard operability, semantic markup, focus visibility, and screen-reader compatibility. We test on macOS VoiceOver and iOS VoiceOver during development.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, we want to know. Use the Contact form with the phrase "accessibility" in the message, describe the issue and the URL where you encountered it, and we will respond within 10 business days with a fix or a workaround.
8. Marks we own or license from a partner
The brand names, logos, and product marks below are owned by Cura Vita Cares PLLC or its engineering partner RoxyKovu LLC. They appear on this site under that ownership. All are claimed common-law trademarks (™) of their respective owners; no federal registration is asserted unless specifically marked with ®.
- "Cura," "CURA Vita," "Cura Vita Cares," and the Cura Vita Cares ginkgo logo - ™ Cura Vita Cares PLLC. All sizes (128, 256, 512, 1024 px) and the social-card variant are first-party brand assets.
- "EDEN" word mark, EDEN logo icon, EDEN logo full lockup - ™ jointly owned by RoxyKovu LLC and Cura Vita Cares PLLC, the EDEN platform's co-owners.
- EDEN Education Center icon - first-party artwork commissioned for the EDEN Education module. © RoxyKovu LLC, all rights reserved.
- EDEN module icons on the product overview (scheduling, clinical, billing, dermatology, e-prescribe, laboratory, patient portal, AI assistant) - first-party stroke illustrations drawn for the EDEN platform. They visually echo Apple's SF Symbols design language but are independently drawn vectors; "SF Symbols" is a trademark of Apple Inc. and is not claimed here.
- About-page achievement badges (excellence laurel, mentor, rank, star, chair, JO) - first-party SVG illustrations designed for this site. © Cura Vita Cares PLLC.
9. U.S. Government insignia (public domain, used nominatively)
Catherine Brahe's biography includes service at U.S. Government commands. The associated insignia appear next to those credentials solely to identify the organization where she trained or served. These works are in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105 (works of the United States Government).
- U.S. Marine Corps - Eagle, Globe and Anchor; Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer device. The Eagle, Globe and Anchor is a registered trademark of the Department of the Navy. Reproduction for personal biographical and historical use is permitted under DoD policy.
- U.S. Navy - Department of the Navy seal.
- Navy Medicine - command identifier of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
- Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) - command identifier.
- Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) - command identifier.
- NMRTC Camp Lejeune - command identifier of the Naval Medical Readiness and Training Command at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
- Military awards and rank insignia rendered as SVGs for the bio timeline - Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Lieutenant Commander rank device.
No endorsement. Display of U.S. Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, or U.S. Navy insignia on this site does not constitute or imply endorsement by the U.S. Government, the Department of Defense, or any component thereof. Insignia identify Dr. Brahe's prior and ongoing service affiliations as a Navy Lieutenant Commander only. Cura Vita Cares PLLC is a private company and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any U.S. Government agency. Dr. Brahe's views on this site are her own and do not represent the views of the Department of the Navy, the Department of Defense, or the U.S. Government.
10. Photography
- Catherine Brahe portraits and biographical photos (
/assets/images/brahe/) - personal photographs of Dr. Brahe used here with her express permission as Founder and CEO of Cura Vita Cares PLLC. Some images depict official U.S. Navy duty (clinical, deployment, training); those underlying activities are official government work but the photographs themselves are either her own or were provided to her in her personal capacity, not as work product of any government photographer. - Headshot (
/assets/images/brahe-headshot.webp) - personal portrait, used with permission.
If you appear in any photograph on this site and did not consent to its display, contact us and we will remove or anonymize it promptly.
11. Typography and open-source attribution
The three typefaces used on this site are released under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1, which permits free use, embedding, and modification including for commercial purposes. The OFL does not require attribution but we provide it here as good practice.
- Caveat by Pablo Impallari (Impallari Type) - SIL OFL 1.1. Loaded from Google Fonts.
- Cal Sans by the Cal Sans project - SIL OFL 1.1. Self-hosted from
/assets/external/fonts/CalSans-Regular.woff2. - Rubik by Philipp Hubert and Sebastian Fischer (Hubert & Fischer) - SIL OFL 1.1. Self-hosted from
/assets/external/fonts/Rubik-400.woff2.
The site does not bundle or load any JavaScript libraries beyond first-party code. If we add open-source dependencies in the future, they will be listed here with their licenses.
12. What we deliberately do not display
The following categories of marks are not shown on this site, even where they would be biographically or operationally accurate, because their owners reserve all rights or because their use could imply endorsement we have not been granted.
- Logos of private universities, professional societies, and academic institutions Dr. Brahe attended, holds membership in, or trained at. Their names appear in plain text only.
- NATO and other intergovernmental-organization marks. Service-affiliation references appear in plain text only.
- Logos of private dermatology practices, clinics, wellness companies, or other healthcare businesses Dr. Brahe has consulted with or trained at. Plain-text references only.
- Apple SF Symbols in their authentic form. The module-overview icons are independently drawn stroke illustrations that visually echo SF Symbols but are not the symbols themselves.
- Logos, screenshots, or product marks of competing EHR or healthcare-software vendors. We refer to product categories generically.
- Patient identifiers, real medical records, or PHI of any kind. Any clinical-looking screenshots are mockups or fully synthetic data.
13. IP infringement notice (DMCA)
We respect intellectual property and respond to good-faith notices of claimed infringement.
If you believe material on curavitacares.com infringes a copyright, trademark, or other right you hold or are authorized to enforce, send us a notice through Contact containing:
- your name, address, and email;
- identification of the work or mark you claim is infringed;
- the specific URL on this site where the allegedly infringing material appears;
- a statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorized;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on the rights holder's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We aim to respond within 3 business days, will remove or revise the material if the notice has merit, and will keep you informed of the outcome.
14. Children's privacy (COPPA)
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the contact form, we will delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes their child has provided information should contact us and we will purge the record.
15. State consumer privacy rights
Several U.S. states - including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others - have enacted consumer privacy statutes that grant residents specific rights over personal information held about them. Even where Cura Vita Cares PLLC is below the statutory thresholds, we voluntarily extend the rights set out in Section 2 (Privacy policy) to all visitors regardless of state.
Specifically, you have the right to know what we collect, correct inaccurate data, delete data (subject to legal-retention exceptions), receive a portable copy, and opt out of any future processing. Submit a request via Contact with the phrase "privacy request."
We do not sell personal information. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not process sensitive personal information (race, religion, health data, precise geolocation, etc.) collected through this site.
16. Changes to this notice
We will revise this page when our practices change. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent material revision. Minor corrections (typos, link fixes) may be made without a date bump. For substantive changes - new data collection, new third-party services, changes to retention or your rights - we will publish a note describing what changed and when. If you have ever sent us a contact-form submission, we will notify you by email of substantive changes affecting your data.
17. Contact for legal inquiries
For any of the following, write to us via Contact with the indicated subject prefix so the message routes correctly:
- Privacy request - access, correction, deletion, portability, or opt-out of processing under Section 2.
- Accessibility - barrier reports under Section 7.
- IP infringement - DMCA-style notice under Section 13.
- Credit correction - misattribution of a mark, image, or font under sections 8 to 12.
